Fun Time Call is a set of phone lines that tell you the time and the weather. They are built to know as little about you as possible.
When you call
Calls are carried by Plivo, our telephony provider. During a call, their webhooks send our server your caller ID, the digits you press, and call metadata (time, duration). We use that information to answer the call: the digits pick a menu item. Our server does not write your number to disk. Plivo retains call records under its own privacy policy, and your phone carrier keeps its usual records of any call you place.
The one feature that uses your number
The lines include a number-readback service, reached by pressing 958 at the menu. It exists because telephone installers needed a way to find out which line they were on. If you dial it, the line speaks your own caller ID back to you out loud — so don't use it on speakerphone in front of people you'd rather not share your number with. Your number is used only to say it back to you during that call, and is not stored afterward. Every other part of the service is the same for every caller.
What we never do
We don't record calls. We don't sell, share, or monetize caller information. We don't call or text you back. We don't use your number for anything after the call ends.
Third-party data sources
Weather and alerts come from the National Weather Service, earthquakes from the U.S. Geological Survey, tide predictions from NOAA Tides and Currents, and sunrise and sunset times from sunrise-sunset.org. Our server makes those requests on a schedule, not when you call, and they contain nothing about you or your call.
This website
funtimecall.com is static pages. No cookies, no analytics, no tracking, no accounts, no forms. Our web server keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, page requested) for operations and abuse prevention, and they rotate away.
Children
The service is a general-audience novelty line and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
